I was captivated by the unusual combination of these two organisms – the glossy, almost otherworldly texture of the slime mould contrasting with the soft, natural form of the mushroom. I took this image to celebrate the often-overlooked wonders of nature’s microscopic world, and to showcase the intricate relationships that exist even in the smallest, most unexpected places.
