I captured this poignant scene in the Teide National Park, where Mount Teide stands tall and majestic, piercing through a sea of clouds in the distance. In the foreground, charred plants and trees bore silent testimony to the devastating wildfire of 2023 in Tenerife; a sobering reminder of the fragility of our ecosystems in the face of climate change. Yet, amidst the scars of destruction, I saw signs of renewal – delicate shoots of new growth pushing through the ashen ground, a quiet symbol of resilience and hope.
