I bought this anemone from the florist when I passed by it one day; it is a species from Japan. Its form and shape were quite different from the normal type I usually see. I was attracted by the delicate long petals, pure colour and the central stamens. I placed it in a vase at home and took this photo on my balcony. The weather was sunny and the light shone right through behind a backdrop of pink roses, then the light reached onto the back of the anemone. It was so fantastic having the contrasting background to reveal the form and the details of the petals.
