In this still life I wanted to build an imaginary scene of a forest. In the foreground I used local plants, branches and pieces of bark. In the background I placed one of my landscape paintings to form this composition. The two ‘birds’ in the centre are actually porcelain figurines, adding colour and life to the scene. They are illuminated by rays of light shining through a roof of leaves.
