This still life was inspired by an article in our local newspaper about an old schoolmaster who lived in our hometown in the 16th century. He collected more than 630 samples of various wildflowers, dried and pressed them and put them on paper leaves. He created eleven books which are now under scientific examination because a lot of these collected plants are already extinct. So he left us a real treasure!

To create this picture, I collected various wildflowers and dried and pressed them like he did. Together with some other classic items, I created a scene that could have existed last century.
