Painted Rose
Macro ArtImage details - Painted Rose
Description
I love spending time in the studio with flowers submerged in water. I decided to use this dead, dried rose (I dry all my subjects after being photographed alive) as the colour and detail was still very prominent. As soon as the rose was submerged it seemed to come alive again, so to complement this I used red and yellow paint – injected at the top of the tank filled with milk and water. It almost felt like painting; making the same decisions as artist, however I was making the decisions of a photographer – when to press the shutter release of the camera, and how fast the paint was captured.
