An image taken on a misty September afternoon at Point Lobos State Reserve. The tree is a dead Monterey cypress (Cupressus macrocarpa) standing on a rocky outcrop along the Cypress Grove Trail.

I was particularly attracted by the orange/red coloured encrustation (an alga called Trentepohlia aurea) in combination with the deep blue water and pale-coloured rock.
