Description
Species-rich chalk grassland has been described as 'the rainforest of England' – they are home to an array of plants and creatures, with up to 40 species in just one square metre of turf. Here at Washington Chalk Pits on the Wiston Estate; common spotted orchids, wild thyme, cowslips, salad burnet, quaking grass and other species grow together. Captured at sunset in June, with multiple images focus stacked together.
