Description
I think that Tragopogon pratensis (goat's beard) is one of the UK's most beautiful and distinguished wild plants. The bright yellow flower is wilted by midday, earning the local name of Jack-go-to-bed-at-noon. It is soon replaced by a large seedhead, which twinkles and shimmers in the sunshine. I find them irresistible, photographed here in situ using natural light, I then applied effects in post-processing. This composition makes me think of shooting stars, somewhere in outer space.
