Photography has always been my way to slow down and be still, hence my love of still life photography. I enjoy the contemplative nature of the genre, a mindful process that allows me to be present and aware of life’s beautiful imperfections. I was guided by the flowers and foliage - their form and size and with the use of natural light to shape the shadows within the arrangement, I created a painterly quality that also evokes feelings of nostalgia and sentiment.
