A tradition in Bavaria inspired me to create this still life of roses. This tradition involves producing ice, which is needed to cool the beer cellars, without any electricity and which lasts for an entire year.
To do this, wooden beams are sprinkled with water which leads to the growth of icicles. This is precisely what I did with my arrangement of roses. At -15°C, I sprayed water on the roses every few minutes which immediately froze. It took a few hours for these icicles to grow a few centimetres.
